THE HEART OF THE OFFERING
Education Begins with Relationship
Before children memorize facts about the world, they learn to know it, love it, and belong within it.
At Rooted Earth Mondays, we believe meaningful learning grows from relationship. Relationship with the land beneath our feet. Relationship with stories that have shaped humanity. Relationship with the plants, animals, and ecosystems that sustain life. Relationship with our own bodies through purposeful movement. And relationship with one another as we learn in community.
Each Monday is intentionally designed to weave together rigorous academics, artistic expression, somatic movement, practical life skills, and immersive experiences in nature. Rather than separating learning into disconnected subjects, children experience knowledge as an interconnected whole—discovering that geography is connected to history, mathematics is connected to beauty, science is connected to wonder, and language arts becomes the thread that ties every experience together.
This is education that engages the head, the heart, and the hands.
It is education that invites children not simply to accumulate knowledge, but to become thoughtful observers, creative problem-solvers, compassionate stewards, and lifelong learners.

LEARNING MADE LIVING
A Different Kind of Academic Day
Each Monday, students experience academics through storytelling, artistic work, nature immersion, movement, and meaningful hands-on experiences. Language arts is thoughtfully woven into every lesson as children read, write, discuss, journal, and create while exploring geography, mathematics, and science through a Waldorf-inspired approach.
Along the way, they garden, prepare nourishing foods, study herbs, create beautiful Main Lesson Books, participate in somatic movement, and spend the day immersed in the natural world.
The result is an education that feels joyful, meaningful, and deeply connected—one that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
THE FRAMEWORK BENEATH MONDAYS
The Five Pillars of Rooted Earth
Every Rooted Earth Monday is thoughtfully designed around five interconnected pillars that work together to create a rich and meaningful educational experience. Rather than separating academics, movement, creativity, and practical skills into isolated subjects, we weave them together into one cohesive rhythm—allowing children to experience learning as it naturally unfolds.

Together, these five pillars create an educational experience that is both academically rich and deeply human—one that nurtures not only what children know, but who they are becoming.
THE 2026-2027 JOURNEY
The 2026-2027 Academic Journey
Each Rooted Earth session is thoughtfully designed around a central academic theme, allowing students to explore one subject deeply while strengthening their language arts skills through storytelling, discussion, journaling, artistic work, and meaningful projects.
Rather than moving quickly from topic to topic, we slow down, allowing children time to develop genuine understanding, ask thoughtful questions, and form lasting connections with what they are learning.
As the seasons change, so does our academic journey—creating a beautiful rhythm that mirrors both the natural world and the developmental needs of the growing child.

FALL SESSION · NOW ENROLLING
Language Arts & Geography
Guiding Question: How has the land taught people to live?
Our year begins where every meaningful study of geography should begin—with relationship.
Before children memorize maps or place names, they first learn to observe the land beneath their feet. They notice the changing weather, discover native plants, follow the movements of birds and animals, explore the relationship between water and landscape, and begin asking how the natural world has shaped the lives of people throughout history.
Through rich literature, storytelling, narration, journaling, mapmaking, artistic work, nature studies, and meaningful conversations, students discover that geography is far more than the study of places—it is the story of the living relationship between land, plants, animals, climate, and people.
Language arts is woven naturally throughout the entire experience as students strengthen reading, writing, vocabulary, comprehension, public speaking, and creative expression while exploring the world around them.

A Note About Weather Closures & Tuition: As a nature-based, outdoor school, our days are deeply shaped by the world around us. From time to time, severe weather or unsafe outdoor conditions may require us to close or gently adjust the rhythm of the school day. In these moments, tuition remains unchanged and is not prorated, refunded, or adjusted for weather-related closures or schedule changes. Tuition is a set monthly fee based on our operating budget and program costs, and it allows us to continue supporting our teachers and holding steady, even when the weather asks us to pause.
