Welcome to Summer Classes at Sunrise School!

At Sunrise School, we are thrilled to offer an enriching summer program designed to inspire curiosity, cultivate creativity, and deepen children’s connection with nature. Rooted in hands-on learning and the rhythms of the natural world, our sessions provide a nurturing environment where children can explore, discover, and grow. Whether crafting, cooking, or engaging in outdoor adventures, each week is filled with opportunities for meaningful play, imaginative learning, and joyful community.

In alignment with our commitment to fostering a deeper connection with the natural world, our days remain technology-free, providing students with the invaluable opportunity to disconnect from screens and fully immerse themselves in the wonders of their surroundings.

  • Weekly Themed Sessions: Each week brings a new adventure, from fairy tales and potion making to wilderness survival skills—sparking creativity, curiosity, and a love for exploration.
  • Hands-On Learning: Our classes offer a blend of hands-on activities, creative exploration, and outdoor adventures, providing children with opportunities to learn and grow through play.
  • Connection with Nature: Each week, students will immerse themselves in themed activities that celebrate the beauty and diversity of the natural world, fostering a deep appreciation for the environment.
  • Creative Exploration: Students will engage in a variety of creative projects, from crafting storybooks and building shelters to experimenting with natural dyes and inventing their own creations.
  • Holistic Approach: We believe in nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—through a holistic approach that integrates arts, nature exploration, and mindfulness practices.
  • Age-Appropriate Activities: Our summer program is designed for two age groups, 5-7 and 8-12, ensuring that activities are developmentally appropriate and engaging for each child. Throughout all three weeks, students will experience a steady rhythm and flow to their days, fostering a sense of balance and connection. In addition to the themed activities, children ages 5-7 will enjoy yoga, movement games, water play, gardening, handwork, arts and crafts, and daily Waldorf-inspired storytelling. Older students, ages 8-12, will also participate in gardening and explore more advanced handwork skills such as knitting, crochet, weaving, and sculpting, deepening their creativity and craftsmanship.
